OUR MISSION
Spiritual Care Support Ministries provides faith-based education, counseling, and support to those experiencing grief, illness, or loss, and to those who journey with them. We create safe spaces for healing and equip communities to respond with compassion to people navigating life’s most difficult transitions.
OUR STORY
The Danielsen Center for Hope after Loss was born from a dream — one placed in the heart of our founder in 1989. That dream was simple but profound: a safe, compassionate place where people experiencing emotional, spiritual, and physical pain could come and begin to heal.
That vision took years of prayer, training, and preparation to bring to life. On March 5, 2004, Spiritual Care Support Ministries was officially incorporated, and by May 1 of that same year, the doors opened for ministry at 76 West Shirley Avenue in Warrenton, Virginia. That September, friends, supporters, and community members gathered for a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house — a joyful celebration of all that God had already begun.
From the start, the heart of this ministry has been to walk alongside those who are grieving. Loss takes many forms: the death of a loved one, declining health, divorce, retirement, or other life transitions that reshape our world. No matter the source, the need is the same — a place to be seen, supported, and gently guided toward hope.
In 2020, the ministry moved into a new home at 7179 New Hope Lane, a space that reflects continued growth and a deepened commitment to healing. That same year, our founder's husband, Arvid, passed away — leaving behind a lasting legacy of compassion, quiet faithfulness, and steady support that had helped shape the ministry from its earliest days.
It is in his honor — and in recognition of the dream God first placed in our founder's heart — that the ministry now carries the name Danielsen Center for Hope after Loss. This name reflects both the personal story woven into this ministry and the heart of our mission: to offer hope and healing to those navigating loss, and to remind every person who walks through our doors that they do not have to walk this journey alone.

Statement of Faith
There exists only one God, creator and sustainer of all things, infinitely perfect and eternally co-existing in three
persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The Scriptures (Old and New Testament) are the inspired, inerrant and trustworthy Word of God, the complete
revelation of His will for the salvation of human beings. The Scriptures are our all-sufficient rule for faith and practice. Human beings are created in God's image. They were created perfect, but they sinned and thereby incurred not only
physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. The substitutionary death of Jesus Christ and His bodily resurrection provide the only basis for justification, forgiveness and salvation for all who believe. Only those who trust in Him alone are born of the Holy Spirit; only they
will spend eternity with Christ. The Holy Spirit is the agent of regeneration and renewal for believers in Jesus Christ. He makes the presence of Jesus
Christ real in believers, and He comforts, guides, convicts and enables believers to live in ways that honor Christ. Our Ministry acknowledges the complexity of humans as physical, social, psychological and spiritual beings. The ultimate goal of giving effective support is to help others move to personal wholeness, interpersonal competence, mental stability and spiritual maturity. Healing (emotional, spiritual, physical, relational and more) is an integral part
of the Gospel and is available to all.
